MOON UPDATE FOR APRIL , 2018
April’s New Moon is here! Like the Full Moon, the New Moon happens at a specific time. The exact time of the New Moon is when the Sun and Moon have the same ecliptic longitude and can be measerred down to the second. This makes the moons possition to close to the sun to be seen except on thoughs rare occations when the Moon, Earth and Sun are lined up creating a Lunar Eclipse.
In the days following the New Moon a Waxing Cresent Moon will be visible at Dusk in the Western Sky. Each Night it will rise higher above the horizon and get brighter until it reaches a First Quarter Moon on April 22nd. SEE MORE »
