On August 28th and August 29st the Moon will be in a Waning Crescent phase. In this phase the Moon is getting darker each night until the New Moon On August 30th. After the Full Moon the Moon turns to a Waxing Crescent with the Moon growing brighter each night. The Waxing Crescent Moon is one of the best best to view with a telescope. Look to the west for the Crestent Moon just after sunset from August 31st to September 3rd
The Full Moon next month is one of the most anticipated Full Moons of the year. Referred to as the Harvest Moon by early American Farmers because of a special thing the moon does only this time of year.
